Batman: The Animated Album RSS

My name is Blame the Kid and my favorite cartoon of all time is Batman: The Animated Series. I like to sample records and make beats, so I thought,

"Hey Blame, why don't you chop up melodic samples and poignant dialogues from this show and arrange them over beats and breaks to create a beat-capsule of Batman, the Rogues Gallery and all the other characters that comprised this show?"

By the time I finished asking, I was making. This is what came out.

The full album will run about 50 minutes (18 tracks) and be available for free download at a website TBA.

Enjoy! Let me know what you think.

Harvey Dent’s burgeoning political career was greatly hindered by his violent and seemingly random outbursts. Slowly but surely, his alternate persona became strong enough to stake claim to the body and mind of Handsome Harvey.

The complexity of Twoface’s character was given new depth by Batman: The Animated Series. I feel a deep connection to this particular Rogue and I hope that my approach to rhythmically encapsulating his origin story makes him more human to you.

Who is the real villain, meek and mild Arnold Wesker or snide-talking mastermind heist planner Scarface, a mere puppet? Well, the ventriloquist obviously. Far fetched villains may fly in other superhero lore, but our masked detective is no dummy.

The man beneath the clay, Matt Hagen, was an accomplished actor before he fell pray to the addictive qualities of Roland Daggett’s Renuyu formula. This track is a theatrical look at the dramatic fall of a true player voiced by Ron Perlman.
